The State of Knights-Marshal, and Other Things
Lately, I have not had as much time as I would like to work on Knights-Marshal of the Commonwealth. This is partly due to me running to the hospital daily to help an ill family member, but also because of the serious prep that the Skirmsher/ d-Infinity team are making for our annual pilgrimage to Comicpalooza, Houston's wildly popular expo of comics, games, geek culture and more.
Last year, among other things, I ran a pair of scenarios for Chevauchee, a cool skirmish minis game put out by, naturally, Skirmisher Publishing. I worked out some viking era monster and magic rules for what was a ruleset for small scale historical battles in the period of the Hundred Years War, Wars of the Roses, Burgundian Wars, Condotierri conflict in Italy . . . [OK, OK, I'll stop - roughly the time period 1350 to 1485 or so].
This year, Mike Varhola asked me to reprise the same Viking Monster Maaaadness! But with some new folks, new magic, and new monsters. So that is what I have been working on [maaadly, of course] for the last while. A Cold Day in Hel! gives us a look at how the Frost Giants view the Yule Holiday.
Not thatworking out fingers to the bone is out of the ordinary around here. EVERYBODY at Skirmisher has been writing, playing, playtesting, building, coding, etc for the big event. If last year was any indication, it is going to be a blast!!!
Note: I am nearly done my Chevauchee stuff, then its back to KMotC!! So stay tuned!
