Sci-Fi Salvage Table

Sci-Fi Salvage Table

If your Starfinder players are like mine, every time they find a derelict starship or abandoned deep space outpost they cart away everything that isn’t bolted down. That’s why I came up with the following incidental salvage table. Now when they pry open a storage crate or break the seals of a cargo hold I’m one roll away from an usual trinket or technological item to make their scavenging worth while.

A compact laser pistol with 1d6 charges remaining in its power cell.

A package of dried, shredded freshwater starfish; a popular snack among reptilian species. There is a 50% chance the package is opened and another 50% chance its contents are stale.

A crate containing 1d6x burned out plasma capacitors.

A thermally insulated sleeping bag rolled up into a tight bundle. There is a 25% chance there is a small item stashed in the middle of the bundle.

A model starship. When switched on the model hovers and flies around the user in gentle circles.

A transparent cube one inch to a side. Faint lines of circuitry can be seen within the cube when the light hits it just so. When activated a six-inch hologram of an alien pop star appears above the cube and sings a catchy tune.

A spray can of industrial lubricant. There is enough lubricant remaining in the can to cover 1d10 x 5 square feet of space.

A blank data storage wafer.

An unopened package of brightly colored socks.

A canister containing 1d4 gallons of clean, potable water.

A bottle of high quality pheromonal perfume. The pheromones are attuned to the scent receptors of a particular group of sapients. 1) humanoid, 2) insectoid, 3) reptilian, 4) rodent, 5) marsupial, 6) avian.

A 3D tafl board complete with pieces made from meteoric iron and lunar regolith.

An I.O.U for 1d100x credits written by an engineer.

Colonel Mike’s Ricochet BBQ Flavor Ration Packs™

A signed poster of Luna deLuna, a pinup popular among space travelers a century ago.

A sturdy, pocket edition of an ancient holy text.

An engineer’s toolkit, covered in bright stickers, missing one tool.

A small box, its interior lined with synthetic velvet. The box contains an engagement ring, never worn.

A pack of 24 glass bottles containing fizzy cola sweetened with natural sugars.

A pack of silvery thermal underwear.

A deck of plastic playing cards. There is a 25% chance the cards are discretely marked.

A long box containing 1d100 comic books from various publishers. There is a 20% the box contains a rare, signed edition worth 10+1d100x credits on the collectors market.

A spiffy captain’s hat.

A customized portable computer. Its processor is overclocked, giving it the computing power of a massive supercomputer. When using this computer a critical failure causes the entire machine to burn out beyond repair.

A small robot that passes butter and other condiments.

A portable communicator rigged to jam signals rather than send or receive them.

A stuffed toy made to resemble fuzzy animal that doesn’t quite match up to any known species. When squeezed it says “I wuv yoOoOoOou” in a voice that is meant to be adorable but is unintentionally disturbing.

A bottle of fine liquor produced using traditional methods and ingredients in a planet-bound distillery.

An empty pitchback box.

A detailed figure carved from jadewood by an alien artisan from a pre-industrial civilization.
