New BASH Hero Datafile - The Kraken!
Here is another hero from my Hunts Point campaign - The Kraken!

Disgraced Ex-Cop forced into vigilantism -
Max Leonard was a talented officer, who refused to bend in a crooked precinct. Finally, the powers that be had had enough and arranged some come-uppance for Marks. He was arrested for a string of murders, and railroaded through the system. When his sentence came down, 22 years in Riker’s Island Correction – in General Population – Max realized that he had not just been framed, he had been given a death sentence. He broke out of the transport to prison, scrambling down to the docks to escape. With nowhere to turn he dove into the water, diving deep to avoid the pursuing bullets of his former fellows. When the body did not resurface, they dragged the area to no avail. Del was gone, presumed dead. What actually happened was far stranger.
Almost out of breath, Max's fingers closed on a rusted lever. When he forced it, he was drawn inward along with a rush of sea-water. The hatched cycled closed and Max found himself in the lair of the Kraken, a vigilante from the 1920s. Brushing off the dust, Del realized that, along with some retooling and a lot of elbow grease, he had everything he needed to make a difference in a way he never could as a cop. He particularly seeks out crooked cops, gets the goods on them and turns them over to a contact outside the local precinct.
Arms of the Kraken: [7 Points] These were the signature of the original kraken, though at the time they were more primitive and in the form of a gun. Max reworked them to be easier to handle.
Mechano-tentacle Harpoons: x3 to hit, x4 damage; Each bracer contains a retractable Mechano-tentacle/harpoon. Kraken can switch between harpoon and tentacle as a free action.
- Kraken can use the mechano-tentacles in the bracers to Swing from place to place by Clinging to various surfaces. They can reach up to 30 feet via Stretching and you can use them to make melee attacks
- Kraken can shoot an enemy with this harpoon, doing x4 dmg. If the enemy takes more than 10 damage (after Soak) from this shot, the Harpoon has stuck in and must be removed by the target [Brawn or Mind check 20, suffers half of the roll as direct damage – max 10 dmg]. The Harpoon Cannon has a range of 10 Squares.
- The harpoon has a tow cable behind it, which Kraken can reel in (make a Brawn Contest; if Kraken win, the target is reeled iin; if failed, Kraken is reeled towards it. The distance reeled in is 1 foot per point by which the contest was won or lost.
- The target cannot move beyond the length of the tow cable unless they snap it (30 Brawn check) or is released. Reeling in the cable prevents Kraken from using the limb it is attached to, but otherwise does not count as an attack, and can be performed as part of his panel once per page.
- As an attack, Kraken can swing the impaled target around, as if he had them grappled in a wrestling attack using Stretching once the target is within 6 Squares.
- Kraken can also detach the tow-line and anchor it to another point or person This can be used to tether two points together making a tightrope between them).
