Special Abilities

Hover (Ex): Although the unit is fully airborne, it is capable of moving as much or as little as it desires, and can even hover without moving and still use its turret or missiles.

Missiles (Ex): The T-2 AAAV  comes equipped with a series of 6 small missiles. These are dumb-fired weapons, and have a maximum range of 100 feet. The T-2 AAAV simply chooses a target and fires the missile. The target is allowed a Ref save (DC 10), and if it succeeds, the target takes half damage. The missile does 1d8+1 F damage and has a burst radius of 20 feet. Each unit comes equipped with 6 of these missiles underslung on the wings.

Sustained Fire (Ex): Whenever the unit attacks the same target over multiple rounds, it gains a +1 to hit each round, up to a maximum of +3 to hit after four continuous rounds. If the unit fails to fire upon the same target, or switches target, any bonuses are lost.

Based on the militaries ‘Predator’ drone series, the T-2 is the progenitor to the Dragon and other similar Hunter Killer units.

Unlike the original designs, these new AAAV drones are equipped with jet ‘pods’, giving them excellent speed and supreme maneuverability on the battle field, and unlike the first generation drones, these units are able to hover and move in any direction the unit desires.

Equipped with a small autocannon, the unit can easily mow down numerous enemy combatants, and each comes equipped with ‘fire and forget’ rockets, which can be used against enemy armor and fortifications, although the units are only equipped with six of these at a time.

These units were constructed to be used as supressing fire and cover for ground units, and to be able to attack and eliminate dug-in enemy forces.

The one major drawback when it comes to these units is that they are not durable, sustained enemy fire can bring the units down quite easily, so the units have to rely on basic tactics when employed on the battlefield.

TheT-2 AAAV is controlled by a primitive AI unit, which can be programmed with simple instructions and battlefield rules of engagements, although it can also be remotely controlled by a handler or pilot.
