Starfinder: Jotaz
An ape-like predator, the Jotaz is found in cold climates and typically in hills or mountainous regions, although it can hunt anywhere. This is an apex predator in most regions, and is utterly fearless.
They are solitary predators, who only tolerate one another during mating season. Due to their massive size, they are almost always hungry and are on the hunt constantly. They are scavengers, who will eat anything they can get their massive paws on, but they do prefer fresh meat and warm blood.
On average the creatures are between 8-12 feet in height, and can weigh easily in excess of 800 pounds. The arms are exceedingly long, allowing them to grab at targets that are typically out of reach for most other creatures.
If such a creature has a weakness, it’s against energy-based attacks, and for some strange evolutionary quirk, the stomach of the beast is not as well armored as the rest of the body. This does not make it easier to kill, as the creature’s only weak spot is exceedingly hard to target, but often it can mean the difference between life and death if one is able to strike at this location.
Dim-witted and slow, the creatures are often easy to sneak past, but once they get a whiff of potential prey, they are nigh-unstoppable juggernauts.
