Originally created by the Cylons (a race of reptilian-like humanoid creatures), as workers and soldiers, it was not long before they achieved sentience on their own and ended up turning against their creators, and set their sights on the Human colonies.

The average Cylon centurion is six feet in height, and weighs 300 pounds. They are purely robotic in natures, and are very strong, as well as surprisingly agile for their size and weight. The basic centurion is chrome-plated, and has a head shaped similar to that to that of the ancient roman gladiator and centurion helmet. A single red light, the centurion’s eye, constantly moves from side to side.

Capable of speech, the Cylon centurion has a very metallic tone, which is often difficult to understand. They are able to speak to each other in their creator’s original tongue, but also have learned human speech, although they rarely bother to engage in dialogue with humans, as they have an overwhelming hatred for the species.

Rarely are they seen alone.  Typically they travel in groups of three or more, and are rarely found in anything less than a squad. Although fully capable of using any weapons, they are usually armed with and prefer to use a basic laser rifle, which they wield with a surprising amount of proficiency.

When Cylon centurion can sustain enough damage to take it out of combat, it can be repaired and revived. Some human colonists have discovered that in doing so, they can essentially wipe the centurion’s memories, and turn it into a robot, which they can use for their own purposes. This is rare though, and can be quite risky, as occasionally the ‘reprogrammed’ centurion can regain its memories and remember it’s hatred for all of humanity.

The basic centurion has little in the way of personality, although they are fully capable of feeling emotions, to a limited extent. They do feel anger, resentment and hatred – mainly negative emotions. More positive emotions are often suppressed by the Cylon leadership, least it leads to potential rebellion against the robotic race. As long as they have a common objective, they are usually quite easily controlled by the leadership.

When out on missions, they are fully capable of acting free-willed. They are always given tasks and orders from the leadership, but they are intelligent enough to make choices on their own. Most of the time they will seek the advice or orders of leaders, unless none are available or easily contacted. This is when they will make decisions and choices on their own.
