No one can doubt that many of the geneticists before the end of the final wars needed serious psychological help. Many created monsters to be used in war, others created deadly virus’s with the intent of wiping out humanity, while even more tinkered with the genome of many species just to see what they could create.

Legend has it that these creatures were created in the country of New Zealand, but no one has ever been able to prove this to be true or not.

These creatures look like humanoid sheep, thus the name. They walk on their hind legs and the front hooves have developed into hand-like appendages. They stand about five feet in height ,and are covered with thick, white wool. When they open their mouths, the difference between them and their ancestors is more than apparent… they have sharp, predatory teeth used for biting and tearing.

They are also incredibly stupid, and worse yet, aggressive. Many who encounter these creature assume that they are Uplifts, but they are not.

When encountered, they often seem docile, contentedly munching on grass and other vegetable matter. They will view watchers and those who approach them with their big, dull eyes and use this to lure prey in. Once prey is close enough, they will attack.

The creatures attack by punching with their fists, kicking with their hind legs, and biting. For their size, they are shockingly fast and have unarmed attacks that put many practitioners of the Martial Arts to shame. What makes these creatures so dangerous is their bite. It is not as powerful as many predators who roam the wastelands, but the salvia contains a virus, which will re-write the genetic code of a victim and turn them into the creature. Note that only the males will do this… the females are far more insidious. The males always wish to fight to the death, as they see victims as a source of food. Once a victim has been killed, both the males and females will consume the body, leaving broken bones and blood behind. They even crack the bones to suck out the marrow.

When a victim is bitten, they must make a saving throw versus poison or become infected. The victim will change into one of these monsters rapidly, in only three days. The first day they sprout thick wool, all over their bodies. The second day their legs twist and their feet become hooves, while their hands change as well. On the third day they will lose 1 point of Intelligence per hour until they reach 3. At this time they are full members of the species and capable of spreading the virus. Anyone who has been infected can be turned back, but it requires pre-fall drugs such as anti-virals to do so. Once the virus has been destroyed, they will revert to human in 3 days, but their intellect will take longer to be restored, the victim gaining back their natural healing rate per day.

The males outnumber the females at a 5-1 ratio, but if there are females, they will choose one particular victim, and the males will instinctively leave this target alone.

This is the one twisted and some believe (rightfully so), unholy aspect. The females want love, not combat. They have powerful pheromones which they will use against any male they encounter. The male is allowed a saving throw versus poison to negate the effects. If the save fails, the pheromones will stroke the victim’s libido to the point they will ignore their comrades, lose their clothing, and mate with the females. This will last for hours, as the pheromones will keep the victim ready to perform for the female.  This tends to work on females as well, but they gain a +4 to the saving throw, unless their sexual orientation is towards other females.

After mating, the victim must make a saving throw versus poison or contract the virus, which will turn them into the same species. The act of sex always impregnates the female, and the fetus will be born one of the creatures, even if the female was once human or humanoid and is returned to her natural state. The gestation period is as normal for humans and the infant will grow at the same rate as normal children, but will be able to transform others into the same species.

Oddly enough, females who have suffered this indignity and are returned to their normal form will permanently gain the pheromone mutation, which boosts their charisma by 4 points when it comes to the opposite sex. This will happen even if the female was a pure human.
