The plant goes dormant during a specific time of year, typically in the winter when temperatures will drop below freezing, but it is not uncommon for certain plants to go dormant during the hottest time of the year in summer. This typically will last for the entire season, lasting around 90 days or so. For all intent and purpose the plant is dead. Once the season has passed it takes 1d4 days for the plant to return to life, although it will probably be very hungry at this time.
