Special Abilities

Clinging (Ex): The creature is able to move along any surface thanks to tiny tendrils covering its body. The creature gains a +10 to all climbing checks, and can move its full movement rate while climbing.

Tailored Toxin (Ex): After biting a target, as a full round action the plant is able to produce a tailored toxin specifically for that creature, which it can use on its next turn. This bypasses any natural immunities to poison the creature might otherwise enjoy! The bite is a Constitution based, and requires 2 successful saves to defeat! The DC for this tailored toxin is 16. Note that this toxin only works on one specific creature. If the plant bites another creature, it will not affect that target, although it can always take a full round and generate a new toxin to be used on the next creature.

Toxic Spit (Ex): After the plant has tasted the blood of another creature and generated the toxin, it can then use it as a ranged attack. The creature can then, as a full round action, spit a glob of this toxin at its intended target. If the attack hits, the glob does not inflict damage, but the target must immediately make a Fort save (DC 16) or suffer the effects of the tailored toxin. This spit has an effective range of 75 feet.

Vulnerabilities (Ex): The creature is susceptible to acid and cold-based attacks. As a result, any saves suffer a -2, and the creature takes an additional 50% damage from these types of attacks.

Found only in the hottest tropical jungles, these mutant plants are the terror and bane to nearly all forms of life.

The plant looks like an eyeless snake, which moves on its tail. The mouth opens to reveal white, fang-like thorns and a single red tongue. The creature moves with great alacrity, moving on a series of hundreds of tiny tendrils. This allows the creature to move over nearly any type of terrain, and can even cling to almost any surface.

The monster is a carnivore, hunting and killing non-plants to consume and feed its nearly insatiable appetite. The average specimen is approximately 10-15 feet in height, and most weigh in around six hundred to a thousand pounds. The creature has quite the imposing bite, but what makes the creature so incredibly deadly is the fact it can produce a tailored toxin in order to kill anything it bites.

Once the target has succumbed to the toxin, the plant will ignore everything around it, unless it is being attacked, and will begin to feed upon the now dead victim. It requires a single round per level or CR rating to consume a creature. Only after it has finished eating will the plant then turn its attention onto other targets.

After the plant has consumed levels or CR rating points will it then be ready to reproduce. When this happens, the creature will turn a deep green in color and the body will harden to a near iron-like consistency. The creature will then produce a number of flowers on small stalks (2d8 to be precise). The flowers need to bloom for 3 full weeks at which point they will fall from the body and leave for parts unknown in order to find a suitable place to root and they will spend their time drawing nutrients from the soil, growing at the rate of 1 CR per month until they reach their full hit dice total, at which time they can now produce the toxin they require to hunt.

As is the case with most plants, the creature is completely unintelligent, and lives only to hunt, kill and reproduce.
