Starfinder: Handheld Ore Cutter Line Gun
Created as a heavy duty version of the Plasma cutter, this particular device was originally used in mining, construction, demolition and ship-breaking. The device was used where the standard plasma cutter was found to be the wrong tool for the job. It has similar properties to the Plasma cutter, and uses the same type of energy in the beam. Unlike the plasma cutter, this weapon fires a wide beam of highly charged energy, typically five feet in width.
It was discovered by pure accident that something about the particular type of energy used in this weapon was exceptionally useful against undead – be it corporeal or spirit. Insubstantial undead are treated as if they are fully corporeal and do not gain the chance of missing due to their natural state. The weaponized version of this tool will hit a maximum of three targets which are standing in a perfect line, although a to-hit roll is required for each.
