Sometimes you have the wrong weapon for the right foe, and you don't always have time to rush back to the nearest weaponsmith to purchase a bracing pike to use against the charging warg riders when all you have is a well-balanced dueling sabre. With a crafty alchemist and a little quick work, tweak weapon lets you turn the wrong weapon into the right one, if only for a little while.

By working your hands over a weapon you give it a subtle improvement at the cost of an existing advantage. When cast, replace one of the weapon's special qualities with another special weapon quality of your choice. The change in qualities does not have to make logical sense (e.g. a weapon can exchange the distracting quality for the reach quality, or a whip could loose the grapple quality and gain the brace quality). This spell cannot be used to change a detrimental quality into a positive quality (e.g., the fragile quality cannot become the blocking quality). If the weapon has no special quality to exchange, it can still gain the quality of your choice, but also suffers from the fragile quality.

Tweaking a weapon is not a precice science. You may dismiss the change at any time by touching affected weapon. Also, if you are unable to touch the weapon when the spell's duration expires in order to return it to its factory default configuration, the weapon returns to normal but suffers the broken condition.
