New BASH Hero Datafile - Hazard
So after running BASH, Basic Action Super Heroes, by Basic Action Games, for about five years, I finally got to play the other night when my friend Tom took up the reins of GMing a session. he ran a great game, with a villain named Mirth, a joker-esque madman with a twisted sense of humor and a penchant for clowns and gadgets - ideally killer versions of both.

So I got to work out a character to play as a PC, rather than the usual NPC heroes and villains I have been writing up for years. I know the system pretty well, so that goes quite quickly, but I was please to see that the game offers as much choice and fun in character creation from the player side of the Screen, as it were.
Anyway, I thought I would present to you the character sheet and a brief background for Hazard, my PC for the Tom's adventure.
Now I did not have a lot of time to work out a background, so I stole from one that I really enjoy watching on TV - John Reece on 'Person of Interest' played by the awesome Jim Caviesel. Essentially, John Hazzard is an ex-agent/ mercenary, sickened of the life, and bottoming out personally, when a mysterious benefactor finds him, equips him with a bunch of wicked techno-gadgets and gives him a mission - make a difference, save lives, stop bad guys.
Essentially, Hazard does what Reece does, but with a cape and shinier toys to suit a supers game. But, because it is a supers game, Hazard is not funded by a nerdy reclusive, but ultimately kind and friendly technowizard. Hazard's backer, unbeknownst to him, is none other than Mirth, the nutjob killer-clownbot-posse boss and homicidal maniac who terrorizes Manhattan with a dirty bomb in Hazard's premier issue. The penny hasn't dropped for Hazard yet, but I am hoping that I get another shot at playing him. I think it will be explosive when he figures things out.
Tom said he had a good time GMing, and we had a great time playing, so that could happen.
If you haven't given it a shot, check out BASH here. Now, in the words of one of the greatest comic book characters ever - Excelcior!
