Sometimes even the most well-brewed healing potion goes bad, and sometimes it goes bad because of this spell. With dilute potion, any alchemical elixir can have its potency reduced. With enough skill, a casting of dilute potion can even degrade a potion into a powerless slurry of inert chemicals.

Dilute potion functions as dispel magic except where noted below. To successfully cast this spell the caster must touch a potion or a vessel containing a potion, which may require a touch attack at the GM's discretion, and make a successful dispel check (1d20 + your caster level) vs. the potion's caster level (DC = 11 + the potion's caster level). If successful, all variable, numeric effects of the potion are minimized (reduced to the lowest possible value). If you succeed in the dispel check by 5 or more, the potion is rendered completely inert and powerless.

A diluted potion can be spotted with a successful DC 15 Craft (alchemy), Knowledge (arcana), or Profession (apothecary) skill check. The DC for this check is reduced to 10 if the potion is rendered completely inert. A diluted potion can be restored to its original potency with 1 minute of work with alchemist kit/laboratory and a successful Craft (alchemy) or Profession (apothecary) skill check (DC = the dispel check that diluted the potion). A potion rendered inert cannot be restored, though it can be recycled and used in the creation of a potion of the same type.
