BASH Sci Fi Datafile for Knights-Marshal of the Commonwealth - Sewer Pig!

The massive megacity, Sunset Destiny, on the Great Moon Blue Pariah, is home to billions of creatures, most sentient, but not all. This sprawling urban landscape has sprung up over the last two centuries, begun after the terraforming ordered by the overlord of the Pallissey system, Jhyun Zharn, an exiled Sagati of considerable means and little scruple.

Art is by the legendary Dave Allsop!

The Knights-Marshals who visit Blue Pariah have to tread carefully. They are not the unequivocal voice of Law here. That honor belongs, de facto, to Jhyun Zharn and his Blue Pariah Security Corps.

Although they are named after the capital of the Pallissey system, they have been given control of all dozen moons to which Jhyun Zharn lays claim. Thus, the BPSC is essentially a standing army and navy, as well as a police force.

The Corps has sufficient personnel, ships, equipment and training that the Knights-Marshal would need to effect a massive reallocation of resources to oppose it - stripping Marshals needed elsewhere to deal with a body that, although corrupt and self-serving, does keep something like the peace. The official position of the Knights-Marshal as a whole is to leave the BPSC to do its job. With this in mind, there is a small permanent garrison of Knights-Marshal on Blue Pariah, and High Command issues standing orders of compliance and restraint to any Knights-Marshals visiting the system.

Although the Tyrant of Pallissey takes his territory, and his personal security, very seriously, he prefers to foster a rather laissez-faire atmosphere for much of Blue Pariah. This had led to the rapid expansion of the population and the megalopolis, and the growth of every kind of trade or enterprise, legal and illegal. This, in turn, has spawned considerable misery, poverty, and localized oppression, which the local garrison of Knights-Marshals is hard pressed to combat.

For decades, among the poorest sections of Sunset Destiny, there have been repeated legends and tales of massive pigs that live in the sewers that run under much of the megacity. Terribie, fearless and eternally hungry, these creatures are said to occasionally hunt above ground as well, especially during extended rainy periods when the sewers flood.

Now, you would be excused for thinking that i took inspiration for this creature from the video game Bloodborne in which there is a massive sewer pig to fight. In fact, I only learned of this version of the critter when I did a search on the term. My inspiration comes from the classic Uberdystopian RPG of murder, mayhem, and the operative tasked with doing something about it - SLA Industries, by Nightfall Games It is an amazing setting that deserves more love - so go love it up some by following the link.
