Day 1 of Comicpalooza 2016 ... Sort Of
Today, I stopped by the George R. Brown Convention Center where Comicpalooza is going to be held. Looking at the work and effort it takes for an event like this is mind blowing. Too often, when we attend such events, we never put any thought into what the vendors, hosts and volunteers do to ensure we have an unforgettable experience. So to see it all come together was as they say, “priceless”.
I’ve been attending Comicpalooza for the past few years and I can honestly say, the ‘Con is growing. There will be more vendors, more celebrities, and to my pleasant surprise, more gaming! While walking around, I ran across Joe Charles. If you’re a gamer, Joe is a guy you will want to know this weekend, because he will be in charge of the gaming area. He confirmed that they have increased the gaming spaces. There are more tables for board games, card games and miniatures. The video gaming area is bigger too. It seems as if they have put a lot of thought into making this a memorable experience for gamers and I appreciate their effort.
I’m keeping this article short, as I know I will have a lot more to say tomorrow. I know I need to get some rest, if I can, since I feel like a kid on the night before Christmas, but I will do my best, because I want to be well rested, when Comicpalooza starts tomorrow. Be sure to keep up with me, as I will be sharing my views and experiences with you about this dynamic ‘Con in the days to come.
Miklos Fitch has always loved games, from board games to PC games. He received his first board game at 10 years old and from there his passion has never stopped. Now he plays the new modern games with his family as much as he can. If you want to contact him about board games send an email to mfitch0967@gmail.com.
