This device was originally used in mining operations, as it used concentrated Kinetic energy where explosive were too risky to attempt, or where exceptional pin-point accuracy was required when drilling.

The weapon is good only at short ranges, and delivers a highly concentrated bolt of energy. Even though the weapon uses energy, it is considered to be kinetic energy, although it still uses the EAC of a particular target.  The weapon is not effective past the maximum range listed in the description.

Strangely enough, the kinetic energy unleashed by the weapon is quite effective against insubstantial undead, and the weapon can achieve a critical strike, knocking even the most stalwart, sturdy, or insubstantial creature off its feet, which can often lead to a serious advantage in combat, giving the wielder an advantage they might not otherwise possess. The weapon also uses a standard battery, although it can drain rather quickly!

This weapon is also effective when it comes to smashing down doors and damaging or destroying small objects, reducing the DC by 5 when attempting to sunder or break, and the device is considered penetrating against items and objects like doors, walls and so forth.
