Frail and vulnerable to physical attacks, the Ethereal race came up with specialized robes to wear, which would not only protect them in combat, but could also enhance and amplify their already impressive psionic abilities.

The robes allow the Ethereal to reuse an ability that has already been used once, such as Psionic Reflection, or Psionic Rift.  Also, the armor automatically comes equipped with a Hover Field built into it, allowing the Ethereal to move normally; otherwise it would be at the mercy of mother nature herself.

Specialized actuators and fibers act as external muscle, giving the Ethereal an effective bonus of +4 to the wearer’s strength (which in the case of the Ethereal would give it a +0 instead of -2).

Other races can use the robes, but unless they possess psionic abilities, they cannot make use of the psionic reuse, and due to the physical nature of the Ethereals, all robes must be customized before they can be worn.
