The Damascus Plasma Blade is a about the length of a standard long-sword. Each has the distinctive markings of the ancient Damascus style of blade-crafting, and is light-weight and elegant to hold and use.
The weapon has two modes – the standard mode, in which it remains powerless, but still highly lethal. Wounds inflicted by the blade tend to bleed profusely until staunched. The edge of each blade is honed to a molecular thin edge, and can cut through almost any material. The blade itself is shockingly sturdy, able to withstand more punishment than one would consider. When being sundered, the blade is treated as if it was 5 levels higher.
When turned on, the blade emits a bright-blue glow. This comes from the plasma flames, which coat the blade itself. The attack then becomes energy-based and it can inflict horrible wounds, although thanks to the plasma effect, these wounds are instantly cauterized and will not bleed (even when used by an operative using the trick shot bleed option).
Many duelists like to use these blades, thanks to their sturdy construction, and many even integrate the blades into their armor. As such, the blades tend to cost more than other similar types of energy weapons.
DISCLAIMER - I know in the movie Alita was powering the blade herself. I did say inspired by. =)
