A.C.E or Advanced Cybernetic Exoskeleton was in its infancy before the war of the machines began. Thankfully to the long-term thinking of those in charge of the project, research and development was taking place at various locations across the nation, with many of the research facilities hidden away in the wilderness (which not only kept away prying eyes, but protected against ICBM attacks as well.

After the war began, many of these facilities were discovered and breached, the technology found inside quickly adapted and continued in the extinction-level war. Due to the powered armor’s complexity and the need for various rare materials, not many suits were produced, but those that were quickly helped in the battle against the machines.

The suit itself is constructed with special metallic/ceramic alloys, giving the suit a resistance against all types of energy attacks – again the total being equal to the suits level.

It is fully enclosed, meaning it can be used in the vacuum of space, as well as in hostile environments which would otherwise kill the wearer, and is also completely immune to the effects of radiation.

Typically the suit comes equipped with a heavy plasma rifle and a rocket launcher, but the more advanced models can carry even more mounted weaponry. Also, each suit was constructed with keeping the soldier using it alive, and with that in mind, each suit comes automatically equipped with the following upgrades (which have already been factored into the cost of the suit itself), and do not count towards the slot limitation of the suit itself: auto-CPR unit, auto-injector, and medical interface (according to the level).
