Runequest Thursday #14: The Dragodon!

Dragodon.jpg

Dragodons are one type of remnant of dragonewts that have failed to progress to Dragondom, or the offspring thereof. They are solitary, as though hoping that nothing other than their prey will know their shame. They live in the swamps and fens of the Great Bog in the River of Cradles, preying on whatever they can catch. Equally at home on land or in the water, they are fast, powerful and cunning.

Descendants of the failed dragonewt are of animal intelligence and possess no magic, but the original transformed dragonewt will have a portion of its previous INT and POW.

Combat Notes

Typically, dragodons attack by charging their prey, either running or swimming, biting, and gripping, then clawing the grappled prey. Able to hold their breath for an hour or more, they often will drag a grappled creature below to drown. Dragodons have long, heavily armored, spiky tails. It may attack targets behind it with its tail by using a Combat Action.
