New Mutant Monday Series Two #33 - Hunched Mocker

hunched-mocker.jpg

Descendant from the African Hyena, these mutant monsters have managed to spread across the globe, and are commonly found on the plains of nearly every continent.

Similar in shape and appearance to their distant, un-mutated ancestors, these creatures none the less are physically different. For starters, the back is humped and the beasts are slightly larger, typically about four feet in height and weighing in at around one hundred pounds. There is a long Mohawk like growth of stiff fur along the spine, starting from the top of the head and running all the way to the tailbone. The fur covering the body is white, with brown stripes along the back and shoulder. The belly is covered with dark brown fur, and there is a tuft of stiff fur at the type of the tail.

As the attention of most of us in the tabletop hobby is focused on the big gaming convention, Origins in Columbus, Ohio. The rest of us gamers, especially in the Greater Houston area is gearing up for Comicpalooza. I am so pleased that this convention is really making an effort to build up the tabletop division. Comicpalooza gives us gamers panels and lots of space for what we love most – gaming! In times past, a good majority of local game shops are in attendance in the vendor area and I expect the same this year. I know my wallet will be in danger, because I can’t go to an event like this without buying something or something(s) as is usually the case.

As I am very active in the local gaming scene, I am looking forward to seeing friends and acquaintances I’ve met at various Meetup groups. I also look forward to making new acquaintances as is usually the case because gamers like to meet and get to know other gamers. My excitement is building each day as Comicpalooza is fast approaching. For those of you who are new to the gaming scene, this event is the perfect opportunity to experience new games and meet others who share your passion for games.

I am excited to see what surprises are in store for the first d-Infinity Independent Game Awards. I am always on the lookout for games that work well with families because gaming is a family affair for me and my family. Although, my wife and children may not love it as much as I, they are still always up for a good game, which has become a way for us to spend time together as a family.

While at the “con”, I hope to catch a few of the panels and maybe, just maybe get a chance to play a session of Dungeons and Dragons 5th Edition. I am totally excited about that.

So, I hope you are gearing up for a fun and exciting experience this year and I know I will see many of you there.
