New BASH-SF Datafile - Elohir Strider for Knights-Marshal of the Commonwealth!
In the most recent session of Knights-Marshal of the Commonwealth, we finally managed to introduce a third player character, an Elohir pirate by the name of Rai Cath.
Rai was not having a great day. Setting down her ship on the prison planet of Scathac, to recruit among the ne-er-do-wells incarcerated thereon, she found herself in the middle of an infestation of Skinwalkers - the same infestation that Ser Reetha Shartar, and Sergeant Thane Krios had been investigating on the sister planet to Scathac, Macha.
Having destroyed all the skinwalkers on the primordial planet Macha, the Knights-Marshal pursued one escapee to landfall on Scathac, hoping to catch it before it could escape and propogate. They found the crash site, investigated, and were reasonably sure that the hull breach they found in the side of the ship caused the creature, and the interior of the shuttle to burn up on entry into the atmosphere.
That was when they noted the blazing fire of heavy guns from Rai's ship not too far away, which Rai noticed at about the same time. The Knights-Marshal, and the pirate headed there with all speed. The Knights-Marshal, in their courser, arrived early, and without incident. Rai, in her strider, was attacked and overrun en route.
Here, I present the datafile for Rai's Strider, which, alas, did not survive the fight with numerous skinwalkers. Though a reasonably tough vehicle, with good systems and guns, it was brought down by the skinwalkers suicidal attacks, which included inserting themselves into motor intake ports and wedging their bodies in the working leg actuators.
The Elohir Strider is a product of Elohir manufacture, and include elements that are all but unknown to the technology of the Commonwealth. The strider is fast, with an advanced synth autopilot that can stand in for a living officer or pilot. Its guns, supported by advanced targeting systems, are deadly. Finally, it may act as transport for a squad of ten soldiers, which can drop through the central access port in the belly of the vehicle to the ground below. Rai's strider had been re-equipped as a more 'civilian' model, with some minor luxuries added in the cabin, but could still perform as a mobile command platform, conveyance and assault gun.
With the Strider Datafile, I also introduce a new bit of rules for the game - vehicular or ship force fields. These are Ratings 1 and higher, each rating granting an additional Hit that the equipped vehicle can sustain before it is destroyed [Normally a ship or vehicle can take a number of hits equal to its SIze]. Essentially, the field reinforces the hull and armor until it fails, which is reflected by the vehicle sustaining a Hit.
