‘City Builder’ Platinum Edition Update #14: A Monumental Upgrade!

As our Kickstarter campaign for a "Platinum Edition" of Skirmisher Publishing’s City Builder: A Guide to Designing Communities has progressed, the artists and writers responsible for producing new elements for the book have begun moving ahead with them. 

One that we are particularly excited about is the Founders’ Monument illustration that artist Amanda Kahl is currently working on, and to which she will ultimately add the names of everyone who backs this project at the Guildmaster ($80) or Lord-Mayor ($500) levels. This illustration will appear somewhere near the front of the book, probably facing the page with the author's Preface. 

A pencil treatment of the Founders’ Monument illustration — which will ultimately be rendered in full-color — appears below. Amanda has also produced a video that follows her development of this image. 

Amanda’s development of this illustration has inspired us to upgrade the rewards associated with the two backer levels with which it is associated: 

* For Guildmaster-level backers we will be providing a full-color 11”x17” mini-poster of the Founders’ Monument illustration in PDF format that they can print out and display. 

* For Lord-Mayor-level backers we will be providing a print copy of the full-color 11”x17” mini-poster of the Founders’ Monument illustration in addition to sending it to them in PDF format; add a custom face provided by them somewhere in the illustration (e.g., on a bystander, on a sculpture on a wall); and give them both a PDF and an at-cost print copy of our Swords of Kos Fantasy Campaign Setting, which contains more than 60 specific places adapted from general sorts of places that appear in City Builder. 

We hope that will entice some of our backers to upgrade their pledges to the Guildmaster or Lord-Mayor levels! And thanks to everyone who has come on board with this project at any level and helped bring it to the point it is currently at.
