‘City Builder’ Platinum Edition Kickstarter Update #3: ‘Tournament Ground’ Unlocked!
Our Kickstarter campaign for a "Platinum Edition" of Skirmisher Publishing’s City Builder: A Guide to Designing Communities has continued to progress steadily throughout its third day and allowed us to unlock our third Stretch Goal! Thanks to everyone who came on board with this project today and helped ensure that another entry can be included in this beautiful book.
* When we hit $6,000 we unlocked a new entertainment place, the Tournament Ground, which will include everything from Medieval jousting fields to athletic facilities like Olympia and be a venue for characters to both enjoy spectacles and test their mettle against others. It will be written by author and game developer Clint Staples, who has a master’s degree in Medieval History and a background in the weapons, armor, and warfare of that period based both on study and hands-on experience, making him a very good fit for this entry.
* We are now moving toward our next Stretch Goal and when we hit $7,000 will unlock the Observatory, a new scholarly place that will be written by noted game developer William T. Thrasher. Knowing if the stars are right for launching quests, understanding constellations, and interpreting astrological phenomena are among the things that might lead characters to visit observatories of various sorts and we are looking forward to getting him started on this one.
And we have many more great Stretch Goals that can make this new edition of City Builder even more fun and useful! So, please help us get out the word about it, tell your friends why they should come on board with it too, and consider upgrading your pledge if it will get you a print edition of the book or you would like your name to appear on the monument illustration that artist Amanda Kahl is working on for it.
