‘City Builder’ Platinum Edition Kickstarter Update #2: Two Stretch Goals Unlocked!
We are pleased to report that late last night we unlocked the first of the Stretch Goals in this Kickstarter campaign for a "Platinum Edition" of Skirmisher Publishing’s City Builder: A Guide to Designing Communities and then unlocked the second one this afternoon! Thanks to everyone who has come on board with this project since it funded on its launch day and in doing so helped ensure that two fun elements will make this terrific book look even better and be even more useful.
* When we hit $4,000 it unlocked a suite of 12 full-page, full-color custom images by fantasy artist Amanda Kahl, which we have now commissioned from her. When she completes them they will appear on the pages facing the beginning of the Introduction and the 11 chapters in place of the historic fine-art images that currently illustrate those pages and will specifically speak to the concepts we present in the book (a treatment for one of these pieces appears below).
* When we hit $5,000 it unlocked the first of several possible new places, the Pilgrimage Route, which will be developed by author and publisher Michael O. Varhola. He hiked a 500-mile pilgrimage trail across northern Spain last year, was the primary author of our “100 Oddities for a Pilgrimage Trail,” and recently ran a pilgrimage-oriented live-play game called “In the Footsteps of Hercules,” so he is a good fit for this new religious place and we know you will be pleased with it.
We are now closing in on our next Stretch Goal, and at $6,000 we will unlock the Tournament Ground, a new entertainment place that Medieval historian and game developer Clint Staples is very eager to begin writing.
And we have many more great Stretch Goals that can make this new edition of City Builder even more fun and useful! So, please help us get out the word about it, tell your friends why they should come on board with it too, and consider upgrading your pledge if it will get you a print edition of the book or you would like a place in it.
