Ragnarok: Age of Wolves Bonus Content: Hearth & Home Spell & Template

Last week I shared a new spell for Ragnarok: Age of Wolves called Giant's Tread, a destructive spell particularly useful to giants and giantblood mages. The time has now come to balance the scales and give human mages a bit of an edge with a spell dedicated to protection and healing,; Hearth & Home. Like Giant's Tread, Hearth & Home requires a spell template, which you can print from the PDF linked above.

Channel the safety and security of the household onto the battlefield in the form of a spectral shelter. Place the Hearth & Home template within range and roll 2d6. If the roll is doubles, the opposing warlord places the Hearth anywhere within range. Otherwise, the Hearth is summoned exactly where the template lies. The template remains in this location until the next Magic & Missiles phase.

All within the Hearth gain a +1 cover bonus to Defense and immunity to environmental effects. During the End Phase, you may heal warriors completely within the Hearth. To heal a warrior in the Hearth, roll a number of d6s equal to its maximum Health. For every 6 rolled, the warrior heals one wound.

During the Magic & Missiles phase, a mage that cast or maintained Hearth & Home during the previous turn can forego casting a spell to maintain Hearth & Home. If maintained, the Hearth template remains in its current location on the battlefield.

If a mage that cast Hearth & Home is killed, immediately remove the template from the battlefield. Humans casting this spell have no risk of Spell Catastrophe.
