Swimming Feats
Following are two Feats I developed for characters and creatures with strong natural swimming abilities. These were playtested by a player with a Lizardfolk character who, by the time he acquired the second Feat in this mini-chain, could function in the water about as well as a crocodile.

Natural Swimmer [General]
A character with this Feat can move around in the water almost is if it were its natural environment.
Prerequisites: Swim 4 ranks.

Benefit: A Natural Swimmer gains a Swim speed equal to half its normal overland movement; can always choose to take 10 on Swim skill checks, even if rushed or threatened; and can charge or use the run action while swimming, provided it swims in a straight line.
Special: This Feat will not prevent drowning or other ill effects resulting from failed Swim checks. It also does not bestow the +8 bonus to Swim skill checks that normally applies to a creature with a swim speed.
Improved Natural Swimmer [General]
A character with this Feat can move around in the water as well as it can on land.
A character with this Feat can move around in the water as well as it can on land.
Prerequisites: Natural Swimmer, Swim 8 ranks.
Benefit: A creature that is an Improved Natural Swimmer gains a swim speed equal to its full normal overland movement and receives a +8 bonus to its Swim skill checks.
Special: This Feat will not prevent drowning or other ill effects resulting from failed Swim checks.
