Hermit Crab
The common hermit crab survived the war which nearly destroyed the world. Like so many other lifeforms, this creature underwent genetic mutation due to the radioactive energies left behind from the final wars. It grew to insane proportions, growing so large as to become one of the deadliest scavengers to be found.
Except for the immense size of this mutant, the creature still retains the physical appearance of its ancestors, and can be easily recognized. The creature still has the instinct to find shells of other creatures to use as protection and homes – the only issue is there are few creatures out there who can match the monsters size requirement. As such, it has adapted and instead uses the wrecks of the innumerable vehicles which can be found scattered across the coastal wastelands.
As the attention of most of us in the tabletop hobby is focused on the big gaming convention, Origins in Columbus, Ohio. The rest of us gamers, especially in the Greater Houston area is gearing up for Comicpalooza. I am so pleased that this convention is really making an effort to build up the tabletop division. Comicpalooza gives us gamers panels and lots of space for what we love most – gaming! In times past, a good majority of local game shops are in attendance in the vendor area and I expect the same this year. I know my wallet will be in danger, because I can’t go to an event like this without buying something or something(s) as is usually the case.
As I am very active in the local gaming scene, I am looking forward to seeing friends and acquaintances I’ve met at various Meetup groups. I also look forward to making new acquaintances as is usually the case because gamers like to meet and get to know other gamers. My excitement is building each day as Comicpalooza is fast approaching. For those of you who are new to the gaming scene, this event is the perfect opportunity to experience new games and meet others who share your passion for games.
I am excited to see what surprises are in store for the first d-Infinity Independent Game Awards. I am always on the lookout for games that work well with families because gaming is a family affair for me and my family. Although, my wife and children may not love it as much as I, they are still always up for a good game, which has become a way for us to spend time together as a family.
While at the “con”, I hope to catch a few of the panels and maybe, just maybe get a chance to play a session of Dungeons and Dragons 5th Edition. I am totally excited about that.
So, I hope you are gearing up for a fun and exciting experience this year and I know I will see many of you there.
Miklos Fitch has always loved games, from board games to PC games. He received his first board game at 10 years old and from there his passion has never stopped. Now he plays the new modern games with his family as much as he can. If you want to contact him about board games send an email to mfitch0967@gmail.com.
