"A character with this Defect cannot improve in some fundamental way."

This Defect limits how much a character can advance in certain ways and was inspired by people who are surprisingly bad at whatever it is they do. If you would like to see more, you can check out more than 230 more of them in Skirmisher Publishing LLC's sourcebook, The Jester Dragon's Guide to Defects! These "anti-Feats" can be a fun way to give your player and non-player characters alike some interesting quirks and to add a new dimension to your game.

Defect: Statistically Retarded [General]
A character with this Defect cannot improve in some fundamental way.
Detriment: A character who is Statistically Retarded has the lowest possible saving throw or base attack bonus possible for a member of his class and it does not improve with level advancement. This detriment applies to either a single good saving throw (i.e., one that has an initial bonus of +2) or base attack bonus (i.e., equal to those of a Fighter or Cleric) or two poor saving throws (i.e., those with initial bonuses of +0) and/or base attack bonus (i.e., equal to those of a Rogue or Wizard).
