Zombie, Juggernaught

juggernaught.jpg

With all the experiments that had taken place by various corrupt and nefarious governments and terrorist organizations to find the perfect ‘terror weapon’, many different strains of ‘zombies’ had been created. Those who were responsible for the creation of these deadly creatures found that quite often the undead were simply too easily dispatched.

Their solution to this issue was the creation of a massive killing machine that could still infect and spread the virus to help create more undead, but at the same time would be able to soak up massive amounts of punishment before finally being destroyed.

This type of zombie was created when larger individuals were infected. They did not necessarily have to be obese, just muscular. Typically those infected would be over six feet in height and weigh in excess of three hundred pounds. If an individual did not meet this specific genetic requirement, then the virus would turn the victim into a regular plague zombie.

Those who met the specific requirements found that their skin began to harden and became very tough, so tough that all but the most powerful weapons could penetrate. They gained a damage resistance of 12 to all slashing, kinetic, and piercing attacks. All other types of weapons such as energy would still affect these huge undead creatures normally.

Although much slower than other undead, they pack a powerful punch and bite. Few creatures can withstand the physical prowess of these monsters. If both punches hit in combat, they are able to grab a victim. The can lift the victim for a free bite, which will not require an attack roll and the bite will do an additional 25% damage (rounded up). They will then smash the victim into the ground, causing an additional 3d6 points of damage and the victim will have to make a saving throw versus stun or become stunned for 1d6 rounds.

The creature can instead choose to bash a victim, which will cause the same damage but force the victim to save versus death or be knocked prone and stunned for 1d6 rounds. It can choose to hit with a regular fist and then bash, but if it chooses to do this, then the zombie will not be able to use the special attack if both fists hit.

They are also very effective against buildings and other such barriers. When they encounter something similar, they can typically bash it down in a few rounds. If the Mutant Lord has access to Wisdom from the Wastelands issue 1: Artifacts, they will find a list of materials and strengths based on those materials in that issue.

Out of all the undead that were created during the final wars, these creatures are able to withstand the worst punishment and are usually found in groups of other types of zombies. They will often lead an attack in order to soften up defenses, allowing the other zombies to attack without much resistance.
