Thaumaturgy Conversion for Pathfinder

This passed weekend while running the Portal gaming event track at ScareFest 7 I received the belated wedding present I didn't know I wanted. It was a copy of the new (5th edition as of the time of this writing) Dungeons & Dragon's Player's Handbook. It's been an interesting experience revisiting D&D after a two-and-a-half edition hiatus, and I've found a lot to like and a lot to grumble over in this new edition, much of which we will discuss on the upcoming Edition Wars episode of d-Infinity Live. However, while reading through the magic chapter I came across a spell so cool, so creative, and so flexible I knew I had to lift it for my Pathfinder campaign. I now present to you, the thaumaturgy cantrip converted (and expanded) for Pathfinder.

You manifest a minor wonder, a sign of supernatural power, within range. You create one of the following magical effects within range:

  • Your voice booms up to three times as loud as normal for 1 minute.

  • You cause a book to open and turn to the page of your choice.

  • You cause flames to flicker, brighten, dim, or change color for 1 minute.

  • You cause your hands, eyes, or a holy symbol or idol in range to bleed for 1 minute.

  • You cause harmless tremors in the ground for 1 minute.

  • You create an instantaneous sound that originates from a point of your choosing within range, such as a peal of thunder, eagle's cry, or sinister whispers.

  • You cause the flowers of all plants within range to blossom or wither.

  • You instantaneously cause an unlocked door or window to fly open or slam shut.

  • You instantaneously cause a gust of wind to blow through an area in range. This wind can be cold or hot.

  • You alter the appearance of your eyes for 1 minute.

  • Cause a block of text to glow for 1 minute.

  • Cause the smell of brimstone, honey, incense, or other pleasing or ominous odors to originate from a point of your choosing within range for 1 minute.

If you cast this spell multiple times, you can have up to three of its 1-minute effects active as a time, and you can dismiss such an effect as an action.
