Sense Tone [General]
A creature with this feat is capable of detecting in the words of others, and even in their non-verbal utterances and exclamations, meaning that is in no way apparent to those less sensitive. Such beings firmly belief that "It's not what you say, it's how you say it."

Prerequisite: Female OR Canine Or Listen 5 ranks.

Benefit: A creature able to Sense Tone receives a +6 bonus on Sense Motive skill checks made to determine the intentions of anything capable of making a sound. Other creatures' speech is the typical means used to gauge motives using this feat, but even utterances like very quiet grunts or groans can be keyed upon for these purposes; a creature who wishes to be completely silent any particular round must make a DC 10 Will save, +5 if it is mute or has laryngitis (neither of which imposes total silence). Magical silence and similar effects, however, will prevent this feat from being utilized. Likewise, it cannot be used if the person possessing it is deaf.
