It's a well known fact that when you cross a witch or insult the fairy folk, your livestock is subject to terrible curses. Now you have a spell to unleash on the unsuspecting cows of your campaign setting when the peasants are due for a good cursing.

It's a well known fact that when you cross a witch or insult the fairy folk, and you aren't a noble with an infant to threaten, your livestock is subject to terrible curses. Thanks to the devious minds and d-Infinity, you now have a spell to unleash on the unsuspecting cows of your campaign setting when the peasants are due for a good cursing.

BARNYARD BLIGHT

School necromancy; Level cleric 1, sorcerer/wizard 2, witch 1

Casting Time 1 standard action

Components V, S

Range close (25 ft. + 5 ft./2 levels)

Target 1 livestock animal

Duration permanent

Saving Throw Fortitude (partial); Spell Resistance yes

A productive domesticated animal (e.g., a chicken, cow, sheep, etc.) ceases to be productive. Chickens stop laying eggs, sheep produce no wool, and cows and goats give sour milk or no milk at all. If slaughtered, the flesh of cursed animals is unappetizing and any meal made from the resulting meat is half as nourishing as a meal made from the meat of a healthy animal. Affected animals are also incapable of reproducing, and animals that are already pregnant while under the effects of this curse give birth to sickly, underweight young that also suffer from this curse.

A successful Fortitude save reduces the duration of this spell to 1 day per caster level, after which the animal returns to perfect health and productivity.

Remove curse, regenerate, and similar restorative spells counter and dispel barnyard blight.

Barnyard blight is one of several spells in development for The Grimy Grimoire: A Tome of Goblin Magic. Check back soon for more spells for the wicked monsters in your campaign.
