Map of the Nine Hells

Nine_Hells_Mapcropped.jpg

Following is a map I sketched of the Nine Hells some time back, possibly around 1989, when I was studying Dante's Divine Comedy at the American University of Paris. I just stumbled across this map in an old folder of gaming stuff, as a matter of fact, and as I am slowing re-reading Dante's Divine Comedy, I thought it would be appropriate to scan and post it. Clearly I was attempting to reconcile elements from a number of sources in this, from the classic nine-tiered pit described in Inferno to the inclusion of the chromatic dragon Tiamat.
