Caracals are medium-sized wild cats that are about a yard long, up to 20 inches tall at the shoulder, and about 40 pounds in weight and which are distinguished by short tails and the tufts of black hair growing from the tips of their ears. They are native to Ethiopia and the surrounding lands.
