Skirmisher Publishing’s team members have continued to make progress on the Platinum Edition of City Builder: A Guide to Designing Communities since we posted our last update and wanted to share our latest accomplishments with you!

* We have continued moving ahead with expanding the consolidated book to include the 15 new places we unlocked as Stretch Goals during the Kickstarter campaign for this project and incrementally releasing the chapters containing them as self-standing volumes.

++ Our editors have completed one more of those incremental releases, "Breweries, Farms, Mills & Other Tradesman Places (City Builder Volume 5)," and released it at DriveThruRPG. It now includes the entries on Animal Training Grounds, Farms, and Mortuaries that we unlocked as stretch goals during the Kickstarter campaign (in addition to the existing and now-revised entries on Apothecaries, Breweries, Livery Stables, Lumber Camps, Mills, Quarries, and Tanneries). It also now includes all new illustrations, including a cover image by fantasy artist Amanda Kahl, and at least two adventure hooks for each sort of place.

++ In our last update, which we posted on December 7, we announced the release of three other incremental volumes, "Volume 3: Amphitheaters, Racetracks & Other Entertainment Places," which includes the Amphitheater and Tournament Ground we unlocked as stretch goals; “Volume 6: Banks, Trading Posts & Other Mercantile Places,” which includes the new Trade Fair; and “Volume 8: Alchemy Workshops, Libraries & Other Scholarly Places,” which includes the new Observatory.

++ We previously released four other incremental volumes, “Volume 1: Communities,” “Volume 4: Guildhouses, Mages’ Guilds & Other Professional Places,” “Volume 10: Palaces, Prisons, Ports & Other Governmental Places,” “Volume 11: Thieves’ Guilds, Pit-Fighting Rings & Other Underworld Places.” All of them have been incorporated into the 192-page, 70-place interim version of the consolidated City Builder PDF we released at DriveThruRPG in November, so if you have it then you have the most recent versions of these incremental volumes.

* All of the new material for the revised and updated editions of the remaining three incremental volumes/chapters — "Volume 2: Armories, Blacksmithies & Other Craftsman Places," “Volume 7: Inns, Taverns, Bathhouses & Other Service Places,” and “Volume 9: Shrines, Temples, Cemeteries & Other Religious Places” — has been written, edited, and laid out. We are currently in the process of doing a final proof of those volumes and completing the new cover art for two of them and as soon as we have accomplished those things will release and make them available as well. We will then be able to make the final push on both the PDF and print editions of the complete, 85-place version of City Builder and provide them to backers!

That’s it for now! We sincerely hope you are pleased with the progress we have been making on this project and our efforts to steadily move rewards into the hands of its backers. We would also love to hear how you have been enjoying or using the material we have been developing and making available to you.
