We are continuing to progress nicely into the second half of our Kickstarter campaign for a "Platinum Edition" of Skirmisher Publishing’s City Builder: A Guide to Designing Communities and on day twenty unlocked yet another Stretch Goal!

* When we reached $18,000 we unlocked the Colosseum, a new entertainment place that original City Builder author Michael O. Varhola will write. Purpose-built amphitheaters used for everything from gladiatorial combats to mock naval battles are among the places constructed by affluent societies to entertain their large and diverse populations.

“One of the things that has struck me about the ancient Roman amphitheaters I have visited over the years — starting with the one in Trier, Germany, when I was around eight — is what surprisingly great shape they are in after some 2,000 years,” Varhola said. “Those in Pompeii and Rome itself are in better shape than most football stadiums built in the 20th century are today, and the one in Arles, France, is still used for bullfights. Whether those built in fantasy worlds would be as resilient is an open question, as is the kind of spectacles that might be staged in them.”

* When we hit $19,000 we will unlock the Taxidermy Shop, a new craftsman place that Varhola will write. Whether they want to have monsters they have slain preserved for posterity or more effective animation, or learn about obscure creatures they expect to encounter, characters might be prompted to visit the workshops of taxidermists.

Thanks to everyone who has come on board with this project and helped bring it to the point it is currently at! We sincerely hope you have been enjoying our previews of the Platinum Edition of City Builder and the things that will be in it.
