Practical Magic: Armor Up

William T. Thrasher
Get your armor on!

One of the most time consuming aspects of preparing for battle is the donning of armor, which in the case of heavy armors can take several minutes, even with the aid of pages and squires. When an unexpected threat strikes, warriors are often left without the armor they've come to rely on to turn away telling blows. With that in mind, no paladin worth his sacred salts should be caught unprepared without armor up, the latest utilitarian spell in the Practical Magic series.

School transmutation; Level cleric 1, paladin 1, anti-paladin 1

Casting Time 1 standard action

Components V, S

Range touch

Target armor touched

Duration instantaneous

Saving Throw Reflex negates (harmless, object); Spell Resistance yes

You instantly don the armor touched. This can include a full suit of armor, provided the entire ensemble is arranged together so it can be touched all in one go. If you are already wearing armor or anything that would be inappropriate to wear under the touched armor (GM's discretion), such objects and clothing fall from your body, falling into an adjacent square within 5 feet. By touching another creature while touching the target armor, you can cause the creature touched to don the armor instead of yourself.
