Gargantuan Gecko’s are simply mutant forms of the common Gecko that is found in most tropical locations across the globe. These creatures have taken on slightly humanoid traits, now being bipedal instead of walking on all fours, but that isn’t the only way they have changed. The size of the creature has also increased dramatically, with the average Gecko standing four feet at the shoulder.

They are also somewhat more intelligent than their ancestors, being capable of figuring out how to use simple tools, use tactics with other members of their species, and so forth.

Geckos’ live together in small family groups, typically having two or three pairs of mated adults and usually triple that number of young (having only 1 hit dice).

Many hunters in the wastes prize the Gecko’s for their meat as well as their hides, and some even use the creature’s natural toxins. There are many different types of subspecies, each of which have its own unique hide coloration and also possess different toxic weapons and natural immunities. Here is a list of the most common type of Gecko’s. They are fully detailed below.

Golden Gecko’s have an actual breath weapon. It is a special chemical mixture that when exposed to air will ignite. They are able to project flame from their mouths, up to 15’ away. The attack is treated like a ranged attack and if it hits the flame will cause 4d6 damage. If left unchecked it will burn for a total of 4 rounds, the damage dropping by 1d6 per round. Water can be used to douse the flames.

Any armour or artifact hit by the fire has to save versus energy or lose 1 condition level per round. Optionally if the Mutant Lord has access to Wisdom from the Wastelands issue 1 , the ML can have the armor save versus thermal instead, otherwise the item uses the targets saving throw.

Also these creatures are completely immune to fire or heat based attacks. Some hunters make special leather armour out of their hides which will confer the same immunity to the wearer.

Skilled hunters can also harvest 1d3 doses of the breath weapon and turn it into a grenade like weapon, which when used covers a radius of 10’ and causes 4d6 points of heat damage. Same rules apply to armour.

Brown Gecko’s have an acidic bite. When they bite a target the creature must save versus poison or suffer 3d6 points of damage per round. Like the Golden Gecko’s flame attack, the damage drops by 1d6 per round until the acid has been neutralized. About half of these creatures are capable of spitting the acid at a range of up to 15’ feet and it is treated like a ranged attack.
