Many scholars in the ruins are at odds when it comes to the origin of these creatures, but there is one thing that they do for the most part agree on… Centaurs are one of the most bizarre mutants that can be found anywhere in the ruined world.

These creatures are somewhat larger than your average humans. Instead of walking erect, the torso has changed so that they now walk on all six limbs. The arms have disappeared from the upper torso and instead of legs, they now walk on six arms, each equipped with a fully developed hand.

The bodies are completely hairless, and the skin is a rich pink. There are a series of bones protruding from the lower torso, but these don’t appear to have any sort of purpose.

Instead of a single tongue, the Centaurs have a trio of long rope like appendages jutting out from their mouths. They use these tongues not only for feeding, but as weapons.

Although very slow moving, the creatures are quite hearty and it takes a great deal to kill them. They have a very powerful toxic weapon that they can use at a distance. Whenever they see a target, they can produces a powerful spit that can be used once every three rounds. This spit has a range of 350’ and is a combination of three toxins. First, it is a class 5 radioactive. Secondly it is mild class 3 poison, and finally it is acidic, causing 3d6 points of damage on the first round and continues to burn, decreasing by 1d6 per round until it burns itself out. Any armour or weapon being hit by this toxic weapon has to save versus poison (using the targets saving throw or acid if the Mutant Lord has access to Wisdom from the Wastelands Issue 1 ) or have its condition reduced by 1 level.

If this creature is able to get in hand-to-hand combat range it will use its tongue to lash out at a target. The tongue is coated by the same toxic sludge as its spittle and each successful attack will subject the target to the same toxins.

These creatures can also grapple a target with the tongue (if the ML uses a grappling system in his game or Wisdom from the Wastelands issue 11 ), otherwise it is a simple strength versus strength roll. They have the strength of 16 for this purpose.

Once a target has been killed, the mutant will use its tongue to burrow into the creature and it will then suck out all the creatures’ blood in order to nourish itself. It will also lick any blood that has been spilled during combat from the floor or whatever surface it is located on.

These mutants are found only in ruins and radioactive zones. They are totally immune to radiation and cannot gain
