The Ancients created many types of biological weapons that were employed during the final wars that destroyed their civilization. One of the most terrifying weapons ever created was an organic eating machine which resembled nothing more than a large reddish tinged bag of slime.

The average creature starts out life as a small sack of pure white slime, only about 6 inches in diameter and weighing no more than 5 pounds. It has a single hit dice and can only produce one pseudo-pod. With each attack of the pseudo-pod, the creature dissolves the flesh of its target, adding the dissolved flesh to its mass.

For every 10 hit dice of flesh the creature dissolves, it permanently gains one hit dice, grows by 10 pounds and increases size by 1'.

The Amorphous Blob has only one purpose in life - to eat. It will voraciously attack any organic matter it encounters and the larger it gets, the more dangerous it becomes. For every 5 hit dice, the creature will gain an additional pseudo-pod attack. For example, a 15 hit dice blob will be able to use 4 pseudo-pods per round.

Also, once the creature has hit 10 hit dice, it will be able to simply move over a human sized target and completely envelop it. The target is allowed a save versus death to avoid the attack.

If however the save fails, the victim is completely enveloped by the creature and will suffer 6d10 points of acid damage per round until it is completely dissolved. The acid of the creature is so powerful that it will totally destroy anything that the target is carrying. Each round an item is enveloped; it suffers 1 condition level of damage.

To make matters worse, the amorphous blob is totally immune to all attacks with the following exceptions: fire, cold, sonic and energy. Any attacks made against the creature will have no effect on it, and any melee weapons used against the creature suffer an automatic loss of one condition level.

Because the creature has no mind, it can't be affected by many mental attacks.

Finally, cold doesn't actually destroy the creature. If cold based attacks are used against it, once it reaches zero hit points, it is considered neutralized and is frozen solid. The creature can however be thawed out and unless there is a means of keeping it frozen, it will simply go on the offensive once it has completely thawed.
